Hymns for Greek Women, from Sappho to Roussos
Sat, Oct 26
|University of California, Los Angeles
From the Greek humnos, a hymn is an ode or song praising a god or hero. Hymns for women carry a special significance in their worship of a woman’s strength or valor rather than her beauty or virtue. This concert will feature music and poetry by Sappho, Kassia, and LA’s own Theodosia Roussos.
